Meet the Principal
Ryan Hannaford FdA, BA (Hons), MA
If there’s one thing I know, it’s that the performing arts can change lives. Hi, I’m Ryan, and I’ve been living and breathing the performing arts for over 12 years now! My journey started in college with a Level 2 Music Diploma achieving a merit, followed by a triple merit in Level 3 Performing Arts, and then onto university where I completed a Foundation Degree in Drama, Performance, and Arts Management. I then decided to move to London…
After Moving to London
While in London, I brought history to life as a lead actor at the London Bridge Experience, performing as all kinds of spooky characters alongside completing my BA (Hons) in Drama, Applied Theatre, and Performance—earning First Class Honours—and later achieving an MA in Acting with Distinction. Along the way, I also trained with top London drama schools like The Unseen and MN Academy, sharpening my skills and learning what it really takes to perform at a high level.
Coming Back to Devon
After moving back to Devon in early 2024, I’ve been diving into the local musical theatre scene, taking on principal roles like Billy Crocker in Anything Goes, Robin Hood in the Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood Pantomime in 2025, Warner Huntington in Legally Blonde, and Dick Whittington in the Dick Whittington Pantomime in 2026. I also continue weekly singing lessons and am working toward my Grade 5 ABRSM Musical Theatre singing exam—because even after all these years, I still love to keep learning, and developing my own skill set too.

Now, with Star Potential Theatre School, I’m bringing all that experience back home. My mission? To help young people shine, build confidence, and discover their own star potential. Whether your child dreams of the stage, wants to make friends, or just loves to perform, I’m here to make sure they have fun, learn, and feel inspired every step of the way.
